Every 2nd and 4th week of the month
We love gathering together on a Sunday, but what about the rest of the week? There are so many activities happening through the week, but if you’d like to journey with us, through everyday life, talk to other Christians and lean deeper into your faith, let us encourage you to join a Life Group.

At Springs Church we believe it is essential to provide opportunities for followers of Jesus, no matter how new or experienced they are, to grow in faith, hope, love and joy by enjoying close community with other believers. Our Sunday Services are brilliant and there is nothing quite like a large group of people worshipping God together! However, we know people can’t have real fellowship with other believers if they are only ever one person in a large crowd. To experience belonging, we don’t have to know everybody, but we do need to know somebody – and somebody needs to be looking out for us.
What are Life Groups?
Life Groups are our small group strategy designed to facilitate meaningful connections to
help people grow in their relationship with God, by growing in community alongside
fellow believers.
Why are Life Groups an essential part of life in Springs Church?
Life Groups are a safe, inspiring and transformative space where people can rapidly grow in connection and confidence as they contribute to open discussions centred around faith, scripture and life experiences. Life Groups provide a great space to experience belonging and pastoral support as well as presenting us with the very real opportunity to
“encourage and build one another up in the Lord.” (1 Thes 5:11) and “carry each others burdens.” (Gal 6:2). In Jesus, we work out our real-world faith together; sharpening one another as “iron sharpens iron” (Prov 27:17). In fellowship we can champion, challenge, care for one another.
Where do Life Groups happen?
Life Groups are typically hosted in the homes of the Life Group Leaders; it can also be normal practice for members of a Life Group to take turns hosting in their homes too. Furthermore, there is nothing stopping a Life Group meeting outside of a home environment, as long as the setting is conducive to the purpose of meeting. For example, a room at church or in a local cafe.
When do Life Groups happen and how long do they last?
Life Groups gather bi-weekly in the 2nd and 4th weeks of each calendar month with sessions running for 1.5 hours (2 hours max).
What is the maximum number of people to a Life Group?
The ideal number of people to a Life Group is between 8-12 members. This number makes way for dynamic conversation where every one can be heard, everyone can contribute and everyone can be cared for.
Why are Life Groups relaunching?
Our current Life Groups have been together for an average of two years and we are overjoyed by the many examples of people growing in faith, connection with their church family and experiences of God over this time. New Life Groups will now facilitate new connections and conversations for those already established in Springs Church whilst
creating space for new people to engage in this key discipleship opportunity.
Who are the new Life Group Leaders, where will they be based and what day/time are
they hosting the Life Group?
Yemisi Agoro and Maggie Harris – Gornal – Wednesday Evenings 7:30pm
Jay and Leah Astley – Gornal – Wednesday Evenings 7:30pm
Mike and Debbie Waterfield – Claverley – Thursday 7:30pm
Mel Allen – Gornal – Friday 10am-12pm
