Springs Church Gornal and Springs Church Community Hall
Springs Church is inviting tenders for the replacement of the boilers and heating systems at two of its buildings: Springs Church Gornal and Springs Church Community Hall. The works are being undertaken to reduce energy consumption and operating costs across both sites.
Contractors may tender for one site or for both. Where a tender is submitted for both sites, please price each site separately so that they can be assessed independently, and identify any saving offered for awarding both sites together.
Scope of works
This tender is for the whole heating system at each site, not for the supply of a boiler alone. Unless stated otherwise for a particular site, the scope of works at each building includes:
- Removal and safe disposal of the existing boiler and associated redundant heating plant.
- Supply and installation of the new boiler, including all associated gas supply and flue works.
- Heating distribution pipework, pumps, valves, and ancillary pipework components.
- Radiators and other heat emitters, together with all necessary connections.
- Heating controls, time and temperature zoning, thermostats, and system wiring.
- System flushing, water treatment, filling, balancing, commissioning, and testing.
- All builder’s work, making good, and reinstatement arising from the installation.
- Handover documentation, including commissioning certificates, gas safety certification, warranties, and operating and maintenance instructions.
Tenderers should make clear in their submission exactly what is and is not included in their price, and should identify any element of the above that they intend to exclude or subcontract.
Site 1 — Springs Church Gornal
The boiler required is a 100kW wall-hung, gas-fired condensing, heat-only commercial boiler, installed as part of the complete heating system described above. Alternative equipment will be considered where it can demonstrate performance equivalent to or exceeding this specification.
Site 2 — Springs Church Community Hall
The boiler required is a 35kW wall-hung, gas-fired condensing system boiler, installed as part of the complete heating system described above. Alternative equipment will be considered where it can demonstrate performance equivalent to or exceeding this specification.
For this site, please provide a quote for both of the following options:
- Option A: New boiler and heating system including new heating pipework throughout.
- Option B: New boiler and heating system re-using the existing heating pipework.
